I just wanted to share a scripture with you that was on my heart this morning.
"As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you O God. I thirst for God, the living God." -Psalms 42:1
Whenever I read this verse I think about waking up in the middle of the night and needing a drink of water haha. The longer you think about it the more and more you want it... you need it.
At that point you would do anything to get a drink of water, to quench your thirst! Right?
But do we do the same when it comes to Jesus? Do we long for God when we are parched and empty in the same way that we long for a drink of water when we are thirsty?
You see, David is crying out to God in the midst of some of his toughest days. A few verses later he says "Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again - my Savior and my God!"
Maybe you're going through a season of discouragement or confusion and feel like there is no hope. Let me ask you a question? Are you focusing more on your problems or the Problem-Solver?
Are you quenching your thirst with things of this world or going to Jesus to fill you up? Are you filling yourself up with the things that people are saying to you or the things that JESUS says about you?
I want to challenge you today to remind yourself of the hope you have in Jesus. That your strength comes from Him, your joy comes from Him! He is our healer, restorer, redeemer, Father, Prince of Peace, our Savior!
I don't know about you but when I worship I begin to lift my eyes and head from the things going on around me and begin to focus on God.
I begin to long for the One who heals, who saves, who restores! Sometimes when I feel discouraged I get into my car, go for a drive, put on some worship and just begin to cry out to God.
We're have an album called Top 50 Praise Songs: Oceans. It's filled with songs that I believe will encourage your heart, strengthen your spirit and lift your eyes!
Some of my favorite songs that remind me of his hope are on this album like Good Good Father, Jesus Messiah, How Great is Our God! This album is perfect for those moments!
Maybe you know someone that could use some encouragement this week? We have hundreds of albums and songs that can help give hope to friends and families!
